Day 2 of Orientation

This day started with a short PM&R orientation for me and then on to computer training at the main hospital....about 10 blocks away unfortunately. What they didn't tell us was that there was a shuttle that would have been all too happy to take us to this location. I was wearing flats that are pretty comfortable for my usual days but they did not do well on the hike and by the time we got there I was reaching for the band-aid box that I smartly grabbed before starting the day. It didn't take the pain away but allowed me to walk.
So as you can imagine, computer training was boring, but it seemed like the info we learned is going to be useful. Two of my fellow residents and I were on this journey together and when we found out about the shuttle we jumped at the chance to take it back to the hospital. We ate a quick lunch, stopped by our department, and then we headed out to computer orientation #2 at the VA. This one got us....it was long...it was boring...it seemed self explanatory...and therefore not very helpful...and I was ready for a nap!

Oh well, at least that is over!

I did get a couple of things done last night after work too. Joey and I unpacked several boxes in the office/guest room. We ate an oven pizza...don't judge...I haven't been on a REAL grocery trip yet because we have just been operating in survival mode. And then I ordered Hayes' baby furniture! I was momentarily upset to see that BOTH Target and Babies-r-Us were sold out of the crib that I picked out 6 months ago. So I did a little Google search and found it and the matching dresser for less than I would have paid either of them! And got free shipping and no sales tax on top of that....score.

Today has been nice (I had the day off). Joey went into work at 8 and I stayed in bed for a while watching Bringing Home Baby among other things. I then decided to do something productive so I straightened up the kitchen and cleaned up downstairs for a while. About lunch time I ate and then took a quick nap on the couch! It was lovely. I did do a little work after that on the dining room project which is extremely slow going.

Sorry but I think this is a pretty boring post....they should get better ;)
