Ta-Da!
I sewed this tonite...pretty cute, huh!? I made it as a baby gift for a friend (who I don't think reads this blog!) and I think it turned out stinkin' cute!
Boy oh BOY!
We went for the ultrasound today and we are expecting a little brother for Hayes!!
They did not give us digital images so I had to take pictures of the pictures....not ideal but you get the idea :)

Face shot...not quite as scary as Hayes' pictures from his ultrasound :)
Feet, I think...
"Boy Parts"
Profile of our sweet little boy!
Another...he's going to be as handsome as his brother!
Boy Parts
His face...more lips and nose this time
There are the scary eyes that remind me of Hayes!
The ultrasound tech and the doctor both said everything looks great! We counted limbs and they are all present :) He weighs approximately 11 ounces today...a lot of growing left to do!

We now have a well-upholstered dorm room!
Joey and I live in a 1948 house that the upstairs is a converted attic. So the shape of the room is NOT a rectangular prism and it's a little difficult to furnish....and it's the room that our guests see the least of, so we haven't been too worried about it!
Mom and I went shopping for curtain and euro sham fabric at CHRISTMAStime in order to dress our room a little bit (which I lovingly refer to as a dorm room since our bed is on a metal frame and we have mismatch furniture...extremely mismatched). But, when Mom and I are together, we have much more fun things on our minds that sitting down for 10 hours to sew pillows and curtains. So this week, I got a craving to complete these projects (is it considered "nesting"?) and have spent about 10-12 hours on sewing. It has been so much fun! And so rewarding to be able to see what I have created (I liken it to Dr. Jekyl bringing his creations to life...[insert evil laugh here])!
Here's how things turned out:
And for those of you that say, "Audra, you picked projects that only required straight stitching. That should be easy right?" I say, "I'm sorry, we can no longer be friends" :P
I really had a lot of fun doing these projects. I learned a lot about sewing and the fact that I use my middle finger to guide things (which is why this finger was stuck with pins the most!). I know I am still light-years behind my mother, grandmother, and my friends who magic perfectly tailored outfits for their adorable kids out of thin air!

Two things to comment on about this next picture: 1) I made this from a scrap of fabric from the curtains [insert evil laugh here] AND embroidered it myself! 2) This was taken with my new camera and I was standing at the bottom of the bed. With the full size file, I can zoom in to the pillow so much that I can see the individual stitches!!!
Yes, those are FULLY LINED curtains :) Trying to create a cave-like atmosphere for my night-call husband.
The completed euro shams with flanges...

Apology
I truly have not much of an excuse for how long it's taken me. I hope you enjoy the pictures and videos and, as always, I will try to be better in the future but I can't make any promises :)
We are doing great (other than the usual busy) and we find out the sex of Baby #2 on June 14th!
We love you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Destin/Wedding May 2011
Hayes first (gulf) beach trip!! I know it's not his official first beach trip but, really, does any other beach count if it's not in the Gulf?! He was very apprehensive about the water at first but then BEGGED to be taken out into it...he still did not want it to touch him but he wanted his carrier to be standing in it :)
Rain can't hold us back! The wedding was wet but so beautiful and topped by a rainbow to boot!
And don't we clean up well?! I struggled over which to wear of the two dresses I brought for the wedding...no worries, I wore both!
Hayes was the life of the reception...we let him skip the wedding but he made up for lost time by dancing the night away...really and truly!
Come on guys! Get up and dance with me!
H and "Pete"?
They were so excited because H was saying their names...even when we got home, H heard me call "Joey" and he looked at me confused and said "Jo-Jo?"
His carrier for his water excursion that day :)
Another wedding shot...all smiles!
Hayes and the swimming baby! Hayes loved the water and wanted to get in with his dress clothes on the night before :)
We had so much fun and hated leaving! But we are so glad that we came! Congrats Kristie and Tyler!
First Field Trip
Hayes had his first school field trip on 5/6/11 to Maymont Animal Conservatory (or something like that). We have a plantation about a mile from our house and they have a lot of animals including brown bears and foxes and birds etc. We had been there before but evidently took the "lazy tour" of the place...this day, we.did.not. AND since Mommy thought it wasn't a very long tour (from past experience) she wrongfully did not bring H's stroller...a regret-able decision. H had a heat/diaper rash from Hades himself after this trip and was trying to steal other people's strollers the whole time!
He only fed a couple animals and I think it's because he realized they are gross and not worth feeding out of your hand :)
Check out the shades! He let me put them on when we got there and did not take them off until we were in a significant amount of shade. He HATES having the sun shine in his eyes!
SO CUTE!
Jump, Jump!
He's a little bit better at it now than when this video was taken. He's starting to realize his feet have to go at the same time...it's a work in progress :) And neither side of the family gave him resistance to gravitational forces :)
Easter
Hayes' Easter loot....isn't that the CUTEST Easter basket!?
An EGG!
The Easter Bunny got a little help from Tuscaloosa and my mom sent him some books to have. The one he is reading is Amazing Airplanes and H says "airplane" every time he sees one in the book...I think there are about 30 of them :) but I am so glad that he loves reading!!
Easter Egg Hunt...yeah, yeah...It's late
I KNOW that this is WAY overdue but better late than never, right?!
Yes, he did have his binky in place but it was NECESSITY...he had a MELTDOWN right before the hunt and I did not want to ruin the magic for everyone else :)
Hayes' BFF and her parents joined us too...so sad that they won't live near each other next Easter!!
Look at that gorgeous hair!
And once the eggs were gound, they were over it and wanted to play! We had to be inside because there was a persistent drizzle outside. It was also colder than I wanted it to be because I had bought H the CUTEST shorts to go with his clean white dress shirt. You get to see it in beach pictures soon though!
Making sure no stone was left unturned and no candy was abandoned!
This was actually before the hunt, the woman behind H was telling a story and H went to the front and started helping her tell it!
