8 Months

This was a BIG month in the Eason house!

This picture is from pre-church protest day....we were up and getting ready for church (we were even past the point where Hayes got dressed in this cute outfit that Ms. Ashley gave him) and Hayes decided that he had other plans (mainly to eat...he's definitely part Woodruff!). Then he was THIS happy:
We went to see Beth, Sharon, Mom, Dad and Jenn in Atlanta and also went to Asheville, NC a couple of weeks before that, and most recently went to Austin and San Antonio (lots of traveling for such a little man!). He looks like he's either explaining something or doing a dance move:
He loves the bath!
He loves Crystal Lite and drinking out of a big cup...he reaches for our cups even if he's holding his sippy cup!
He went to see his first baseball game while in San Antonio...here he is with Uncle Jack: Go Cardinals!!

Other new things:
- He has a second tooth that has popped up right next to the first
- He is starting to crawl on his knees (the first time was on his "birthday" with Nanny Austin) but still mostly Army crawls to get around
- He is clapping a lot
- He SQUEALS...it is a happy sound but oh, so ear-piercing!
- He is starting to feed himself with finger foods big enough for him to coordinate
- Pulling up on the couch to standing
- Sitting up from lying down
- Eating meats (pureed...blah, I couldn't bring myself to Beaba that so he's eating from jars!)
- Pulling off the plug covers (I mean, come on...I can't get them off but he can?!)

First Swim

Hayes loved swimming! It was a little chilly but he handled it better than I did! He loved when he got to lay on his belly and kick. He was not entirely thrilled when we dunked him underwater though :)

Austin and San Antonio

Over the week of our birthday, Joey, Hayes and I made the trek to Austin (and San Antonio) to see Beth, Billy, and Jackson. We had a great time...I wish the weather had been better, but it seems that Austin just has bad weather (at least every time WE go there :P). Hayes did great until the last night when he had an epic melt-down at Beth's house then continued at the hotel. He was not happy with us getting him so far off his schedule!

Playing with cousin Gussie...Hayes was a huge invasion of Gus's personal space!
Hayes went to his first baseball game and saw Uncle Jack catch and bat a couple times before Aunt Beth rescued him from the rain and took him to the car. I know you can't see but H is wearing his UIW shirt that Uncle Jack gave him for Christmas!
The beautiful Texas weather out in full affect :)

First swim!!! Hayes loved it...more pics to follow :)

Happy Birthday, Nan!!!

It's Mom's birthday today and I really wish we could be together today (or at least this weekend!). I hope you are having a FANTASTIC day and I hope we see you SOON!!

Love you, Mom!!

What a great weekend!

I think this picture about sums it up - a good time, laughter, relaxing, outdoors, Hayes in the center (of attention....sorry, B).
I know it was a short weekend, and I was very tired when I got home last night, but it was very re-charging! I guess there's something about being with the people that know you, and you can be completely relaxed.
I think this should be a yearly event, at LEAST!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETH!!
