I really like him! He seemed like an incredibly nice man and really encouraged us to express our fears and concerns to him and to each other. He spoke with us about communicating with each other about our expectations for after Hayes comes and how we are going to handle the stress. He was very persistent about making sure our marriage was strong and that we would rely on each other. He asked us about our religious background and how we saw that playing into our lives once Hayes comes. He encouraged us to seek God as parents and in our marriage and sympathized with our position as new parents during residency.
Overall it was an incredibly nice experience....and that was even before he checked on Hayes! He measured me and Hayes seems to be growing well and his heart beat sounded great. An interesting note: he said I was having a contraction while he was examining me. I knew that my belly felt tight as it has at other times but I didn't know that was a contraction! He also said that Hayes' head was already down which doesn't typically happen until around 35 weeks or so. I told him that I was several weeks early when I was born and he said that it only slightly increases my chances for delivering early. We go back in another 3 weeks.
