Stuffed Gussie

Aunt Beth gave H a yellow lab stuffed animal for Christmas and we have been calling it Gussie (in the ole' guy's honor!). H loves his Gussie and frequently "kisses" him (or tries to bite his nose off...whatever)

It just so happens that the original Gussie just celebrated his 11th birthday...

Politically Incorrect Trick

Car-shopping is tough!

Unfortunately this is how my precious baby had to spend the afternoon of his 9 month birthday!

He HATES being in his car seat...so what did we do? Made him get into and out of the car and car seat a dozen times. Poor baby.

What H is up to these days:

- Full on crawling...he occasionally will still army-crawl but he absolutely has the hang of the real deal.

- Standing as much as possible.

- Mimicking me clapping...before it was just spontaneous clapping but the other day he saw me clap and then started clapping! We did this three times in a row to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

- Eating our food...he will eat his food with Austin but once he gets to our house, nope...I want YOUR food! Actually he eats Austin's food too :)

- He still smiles like he is the happiest person on this earth and it just makes me giddy to see! He still only has the two bottom teeth and I am perfectly happy with his gummy smile.

- We get comments constantly about how cute he is when we take him out with us. We went to eat sushi the other night and I thought the Japanese ladies might just want to take him home with them.

- He is still sleeping pretty well but lately he has woken up a couple of times early in the morning and bought himself a free ticket to sleep in the bed with Mom and Dad (so they could get a few more hours of sleep!)

We are doing very well, and, even though we miss everyone, we are very happy!! Hayes is awesome and Joey and I just wish we could be at home more with him. He is getting so big now but he still lets us know that he needs and wants us around :)

The most well-loved birthday card ever!

JoLynn sent me the cutest birthday card AND it plays music! Then I
showed it to Hayes and he LOVES it because when he opens it, the music
starts and it cracks him up!! Now he has slobbered and chewed on it
and we had to fix it once but it's still kickin'!
