We are in Asheville, NC this weekend where we met up with two of my best friends in the world! This girls' get-away is LONG overdue! The weekends are always too short and this one is no exception but I am so glad we are getting to see each other...and maybe now that "spades" are broken, we can do this more often :)

Maybe we'll let the hubbies participate next time (Joey came as my driver but he hasn't been out of our hotel room much because he doesn't feel very good).

Joey's Surprise!

No, his surprise was NOT the girls in this picture!!

Joey has gotten into watching UFC/MMA fights on tv and I have an attending who covers these fights both locally and at a national level (he's sits on the MMA council or something). So when I found out there was going to be a fight in Richmond I begged him to let me come and bring Joey!

He let us and we got to do the pre-fight physicals and then watch all of the fights and check out the guys after they fought to make sure they knew their mother's name and that good stuff :)

These two lovely upstanding young women are the rung girls. I hope you can appreciate how micro those minis really are....I had a great/awful view of just how tiny they were when they were walking up and down the stairs that were right next to me (you know, to carry the signs around the ring announcing what round it is). Let me just tell you this....I knew for a fact that they were wearing THONGS under those tissues that they are using as skirts!! Ugh...if H ever brings somebody like this home (or Jackson either...you aren't exempt by any means!!)...we'll have to have a major CTJ meeting!!!

So it begins...

I have started the process to update my b-e-a-u-tiful kitchen!! I know it's hard to imagine ANYTHING being prettier than it is right now...but, I'm going to try!

Our first step in investigating was a bummer to say the least...for our tee-tiny little kitchen, the guy wanted 12K and we wouldn't even have a new floor nor a backsplash!!!! What was he thinking?! AND he wasn't even going to tear out the cabinets...just reface them (for 12K I want gold-dust in this tiny area....or a wall knocked down or something!)

Since I have helped paint a large set of cabinets and I know that the Brittney R. was successful painting her cabinets, I am going to do that instead....and of course, get new cabinet doors/drawers.

I have already talked to the granite guy (who by-the-by came in less than HALF of what the home depot guy did on the countertops!) and was very pleased. I met the tile guy yesterday to talk about the floor and backsplash - should get a quote from him soon. And I am going to meet with a cabinet guy tomorrow.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this transformation...but still not 12K excited!!!

6 month pictures

I have already been scolded for taking H to a "fast-food" photo shop to have his pictures made instead of a photographic artist but when you're this stinkin' cute does it matter who pushes the shutter button?!?!

He was SO good! He was flirting with the girl taking the pictures and it was very hard to get a picture without a huge cheesy grin because he was so incredibly happy and hamming it up for the camera!

Dad brought Grandmother and Granddaddy up last weekend for a visit and we LOVED it! These are some of the pictures of Hayes hanging out with his THREE nannies! Can you even imagine how spoiled he is now?!?

6 month birthday cake!! I think he ate a thimble amount of cake :) But ended up sitting in it when I tried to get him up!

Unfortunately Granddaddy did not feel good at all during this trip so we didn't make him participate in pictures. It just means he'll have to come back and see us soon!!

Is it 6 months already?!?!

My little baby is 6 months old today!

It amazes me every day what new things he figures out how to do. He loves to play (just as long as you are playing with him) and has gotten very good at sitting up on his own. He can scoot on his belly to move around but has really not gotten much mobility otherwise!!!

He is eating both oatmeal and rice cereal, then we started bananas a few weeks ago which he likes a lot. Now we are eating steamed carrots...yum! He loves to eat and hates when the bowl is empty :) ....just like his mom!

He loves to grab at things with his hands and will of course want to taste it is he is able to grab it.

The best thing of all is that he loves to laugh and I love to see that little smiling face!!! He also wants to cuddle with me every night which I adore!!!
